THE QUEEN'S GRATITUDE MEME

Sometimes life hands you pomegranates. You get wiser. Sometimes life hands you that icky lemonade. You get stickier. Sometimes life hands you a boatload of people who either enhance your journey in lovely ways or rock the boat off course just for the hell of it. You get an oar and row in your own direction. It happens to all of us. Either way, there's gratitude to be found if you're willing to look. Sometimes the conflicts are indeed blessings in disguise - you just don't know it yet. Sometimes the storm IS the thing you will one day bless while you wait for calmer seas.

Maybe not today, but someday.

So find some patience and hang on.

We all have something to be grateful for one way or another.

I found a few things this week. I hope you did too.

The Gratitude Meme

1. What are you most grateful for when you first wake up in the morning?  The gift/blessing of breath.

2. What are you most grateful for when you go to bed at night?  To be able to lay my head down on a soft pillow - that I have a bed to sleep in.

3. Who is the person who has had the most influence on your life?  My mother.

4. Is there someone you'd like to thank for something special they did for you but haven't yet? Take the time to do it in this meme.  I would like to thank Sam for being a good friend.

5. Who was your favorite or least favorite teacher?  Gosh, I can't even remember his name, but what he said to me determined my career path.  Graduation was near and he went around the room giving each student a little tidbit about life and their character - a kind of proverb/adage/axiom - if you will.  When my turn came, he said to me, "Michelle, I know you have a bone to pick with this world."  Well, wouldn't you know!!!!  That's why I became a social worker.  To ensure social justice, to enhance people's lives, to advocate for those who can't advocate for themselves.  Because I believe in man's/woman's innate worth and dignity and their right to express themselves as they deem.

If you could talk to them now, what would you say?  Thank you.

6. Do you say grace at mealtime?  Yes, when I remember.

7. Name one thing you take for granted everyday.  Probably the fact that I can breathe on my own without any assistance from a machine.  Or, that I can walk, talk, hear, see, taste, smell and touch without any problems.

8. Have you ever looked back at your life and realized that something you thought was a bad thing was actually a blessing in disguise?  Yes.  I won't go into detail, though.

9. What are the top five things you are most grateful for in your life?  That's very, very dificult for me to say.  But, what I am most grateful for - is the BREATH OF LIFE!!!!!!

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE - REALLY!

You guys and gals know I love a good, bust-your-gut joke.  Well here is Tuesday's rip-roaring hoots!  Enjoy!!!

A guy arrived home from work to find a stranger screwing his wife.  "What the hell are you two doing" demanded the husband.  His wife turned to the stranger and said, "See, I told you he was stupid."

A guy was asked why he married a sadist.  He said: "Beats me."

Exhausted from a long day at work, a business executive arrived home to find his wife in bed with a neighbor.  "That's it!" stormed the husband.  "If you're in bed screwing my wife, I'm going next door to sleep with yours!"  "Go ahead," replied the neighbor.  "The rest will do you good."

Q:  What are the 3 words you never want to hear when making love?
A:  "Honey, I'm home!"

Cheers!!

CONFESSIONS OF A COOKIE ADDICT

You all might remember a couple of months ago I decided to go vegetarian, and thus far, it has been a wonderful experience for me.  Benefits:  decreased weight; increased physical activities; increased mindfulness.  Overall I feel so much more healthier.

However, I shop at a grocery store dedicated to wholesome, organic food named Whole Foods. But, I have a serious confession to make.  Everyday for the past two weeks I have been stopping by the bakery department to buy these wonderful, marvelous, scrumptious cookies -- peanut butter.  Oh, they are to die for, and they are about the size of a George Foreman fist.  Imagine!!!  I would say the size of Vincent's hands, but these cookies are humongus (spelling?).  They bake other flavors too such as, lemon/coconut, peacan/chocolate chip, and oatmeal/cranberry and chocolate.  I have tried them all, and they ALL are absolutely delicious.  However, the big grease ring they leave behind on my napkins, tells me they are not as "wholesome" as they advertise them to be.

When I began purchasing my fave, peanut butter, I would get two (2) at a time.  That amount has now grown to four (4) at a time.  Like I stated above, I have been going to Whole Foods for two consecutive weeks buying these delights.   These cookies are soooooooooo addicting it's unbelieveable.  When I'm in school on the weekends, everytime my classmate and I go for lunch we end up in the bakery dept.  She introduced me to the cookies.  Before, when I would shop there, I would not even go into the bakery dept.  So, I totally blame her for my addicition to these cookies.  Well, I have to put the blame somewhere.  That's what addicts do - they blame others for their problems.

P. S. You were right as all get out Val.  Sweets can be a vegetarian's downfall if they are not careful!!!!!  I don't want to regain the weight I have worked so hard to lose.

Hand Injury: Just how old do I think I am anyway?

Well!  Sweet Jeebus.  Here's what happened.  I tried to hop a wall.  Not a big one.  Came approximately to mid-thigh.  Now, I have done this before, say like when I was eight, nine and ten years old.  No problem - right?  Right.  Just as I thought.  I'm agile.  Flexible.  However, as I approached the wall, for some strange reason, I had a gut feeling that I should sit first and then get up.  But, hey, I'm thinking that I got this.  I'm nimble, lithe.  So, I proceeded to put one knee up on the wall, and then balance myself on my hands as I hoisted my BIG, BEAUTIFUL, CURVACEOUS ass upright.  But, my right hand turned in a funny way.  I caught myself just in time before I hit the ground, but not before I twisted my hand.  I am sooooo lucky.  I could have broken my middle finger.  I didn't go to the doctor on the day it happened, although I should have.  Woke the next day in severe pain and hand distended.  X-rays showed no breaks or fractures - thank heavens.  I have to wear a splint to keep hand still.  Will I ever attempt this crazy stunt again?  I don't think so.  I am getting to old (young), and bones don't heal too well after a certain age.  Thanks for the care and concern.  Cheers!!

SCENTS OF VINCENT

HEALING POTION!!!!

We've all heard and probably have seen the movie Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino, right?  Well after reading Jazzy's post about Water Games (after a nice bath with Vincent), I decided we all are in desparate need of healing.  So, here's my version - Scents of Vincent.  Soothing, healing aromatherpy blends to calm our frazzled nerves after our LOCI ordeal.  For those of us who are angry, need calming/relaxing, or who are grieving, or are in need of a little happiness choose your weapon:

Anger

Blend 1
1 drop Rose
3 drops Orange
1 drop Vetiver

Blend 2
3 drops Bergamot
1 drop Ylang Ylang
1 drop Jasmine

Calming/Relaxing

Blend 1
1 drop Roman Chamomile
5 drops Lavender

Grief

Blend 1
2 drops Rose
3 drops Sandalwood

Blend 2
1 drop Neroli
1 drop Rose
3 drops Sandalwood

Happiness

Blend 1
1 drop Geranium
2 drops Frankincense
2 drops Orange

Blend 2
3 drops Sandalwood
2 drops Bergamot
1 drop Rose

Combine oils with 1 ounce of Apricot oil, mix well, add to clean air-tight, dark glass jar.  Choose your method:  bath oil (pour oil in bath water - soak for 30 - 40 minutes, massage oil (massage feet with oil).  Delight in pleasure while thinking about Vincent.

Whenever you need a pick-me-up, or just need to relax - use as needed.  Save some for Vincent!  Cheers Vixens!!

ABSTRACT VINCENT: WHAT A MAN, WHAT A MAN, WHAT A MAN, WHAT A MIGHTY, MIGHTY FINE MAN!!! FOR LOVEVDO69

IF YA WANT MY BODY, AND YA THINK I'M SEXY, COME ON VIXENS LET ME KNOW!!

DEATH -- LAST EPISODE OF CRIMINAL INTENT, CRIMINAL INDEED!!!

OMG!!!  What the HELL was that that America saw last night?  I'll tell you.  GARBAGE!  Never in the history of modern television have I seen an ending such as that.  Never have I been soooooooo disappointed in a televison series.  The script and acting was horrible to say the least.  Law & Order: Criminal Intent should be renamed Law & Order: Criminal Indeed.  For it was criminal that such MALARKEY, NONSENSE, POPPYCOCK, FOOLISHNESS to be shown on the air.  The last episode was a total disgrace and sham.  We were BAMBOOZLED!  We were HOODWINKED!  I've seen better endings with the Flintstones.

This was truly Goren and Eames' worst hour on national t.v.  Where were their personalities?  What did USA do with the real Goren and Eames.  Will the real Goren and Eames please stand up?  Do you see the picture of the casket?  That is where USA, their croonies and the final episode of CI should be laid.  And then buried 99 feet underground so that even the maggots can't find them or it.  Better yet a creamation ceramony is in good order.   Except for the Goren and Eames kiss and hug, of course!  The BEST part of the show.

THE END OF A SPLENDID ERA

Well, Vixens, this is it.  The long-awaited, dreaded end of a magnificent ERA.  What can I say that hasn't already been said?  What can I feel that has not already been felt?  I am not going to waste precious space assulting the networks or others.  This space is totally dedicated to Bobby/Vincent and Kate.

Staring out my bedroom window, thinking about the last show tonight, I saw a red cardinal perched on a tree branch.  And I thought, hmmm, this must mean something.  So, I looked up what a red cardial signifies and it means - preeminent, superior, chief, principal.  All these adjectives aptly apply to Vincent and his character Bobby, as he was the preeminent detective in nighttime drama.  He was the chief reason why I watched LOCI, when it first aired, and the principal reason why I continued to watch.

Some of the things I will miss about Goren and Eames - the DYNAMIC DUO:  their wonderful partnership, his lean, his stance, her driving, his quirkiness, her stability, her always having his back, her smart ass remarks to him like - "I hope that's not catchy," his bending down over a victim, his great sense of smell, his "knowing" sign language.  WHAT ELSE CAN'T OUR GREAT DETECTIVE DO?  Nothing!!  He was and always will be SUPERB!

I want to thank all the Vixens, especially Val, Nantz, Jazzy, JoJo, FuzzyTweetie, TJara, SnarkAngel, Artist, Mauigirl, Eliza, lovevdo69, Diane, Tess, Ann and many others for sharing your blogs, pics and stories about Bobby/Vincent and your lives with me.  This experience has, for me, allowed special friendships to develop.  I don't believe in coincidences - for we shall meet face-to-face one day.   It's been a HELLAVA ride, and I hope we continue to share our thoughts, feelings about Vincent and our life experiences.

Warmly,

Bobbybegood1

Who's the white private dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
(Goren!)
You're damn right!

Who is the man that would risk his neck for his brother man?

INTERNET EXPLORER

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Explorer?  Or, is it just me?  And, if so, are there any other (free)programs out there that are better?  For the past few days, I've been having problems with my computer.  Problems like - not being able to post comments, computer moving wwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too damn slow, and computer shutting down for no apparent reasons.  I would greatly appreciate any help with resolving this irritating problem.

WHAT IS LIFE -- A DEDICATION TO VINCENT & VAL

Just a little spin on one of my fave songs of all time and one of Val's fave singer/songwriter - George Harrison (no slight to George)

What I feel, I can say
You know my love is there for you anytime of day
I'll give you all the love, that you need
And I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me what is my life without your face
USA should hold its head in disgrace, without you and Kate

What I know, I can do
Is make love all day boy to someone just like you
I'll give you all the love, that you need
And I'll try my best to make everthing succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your face
USA should hold its head in disgrace, without you and Kate
Tell me, what is my life without your face
USA should hold its head in disgrace, without you and Kate

What I feel, I can say
You know my love is there for you anytime of day
I'll give you all the love, that you need
And I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me what is my life without your face
USA should hold its head in disgrace, without you and Kate
Tell me what is my life without your face
USA should hold its head in disgrace, without you and Kate

Oh, tell me what is my life without your face
USA should its head in disgrace, without you and Kate

Go ahead and tell me.  I know, I know, I know.  I'm among a few sick puppies.  What the hell.  This is what happens when you don't have a camera.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY CATHY?

Does anyone ever hear from Cathy?  Cathy lives in Greece.  I think she's a school teacher?  Her writings are wonderfully wistful and inspiring.  She also writes poignant poetry.  I used to follow her, but she hasn't posted anything in a long while.  The last time she posted, I think she was having marital issues?  Anydoodles, if anyone knows what she up to, can you let her know she is missed.  I would go to her site myself, but I forgot her blog name.  I hope she is safe and healthy.
