COOL CAT!!

Well, yesterday made a year since the passing of my cat (Butterfingers).  I really miss her.  I can't think about her for too long before I begin crying.  But there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her.  She was spoiled rotten.  Went anywhere in the home she damn well pleased.  She was not a floor cat - I used to say.  Let me explain.  She would walk on the table, on top of the stove, when not in use - of course.  She would even make it all the way to the top of the fridge.  And she slept in the bed - mine or my daughter's.  Most cats would appreciate their "staff" buying them expensive pet beds, toys, etc.  Not Buttas.  She had no use for such things.  Prefering to sleep with people.  Her thoughts, I presume, were, "If you sleep in the bed, I sleep in the bed.  Talk about feelings of superiority?!  This would infuriate my friend Samuel.  Sorry, there's no room for ya.  Anydiddles, that was my girl.  RIP.  You are sorely missed.  Cheers!!

  1. oh what a wonderful face she had
I can see her personality in her expression
kind of like a Diva but a Diva with a good heart :)

    Hugs
    I know how it feels
I was just crying this morning because I found a favorite toy of my sweet departed JR

do you have any other animals?
my Siren and Isadora always help me feel better and with so many animals needing homes someone like you should absolutely adopt
we need more people who really care about animals

    more hugs

  2. I know that feeling been there. And even now after two years when I remember Esther (my chicken pet) I get teary eyed. The only chicken that I can talk to and talk back at me. Go around with me when I am at the backyard, very happy to see me and run towards me when I come from an errand. The saddest part is that Esther was killed by a neighbors dog, very sad. Along with my only rooster and other 11 chickens!!!
    I know that feeling...^_^

  3. Oh, it is so hard to lose a beloved pet. My kitty is 14, I know the time is drawing near. They are so full of personality and give great pleasure and love!

  4. Don't get ahead of your baby's time, missing moments. My Birman boy (who also died a year ago) was nearly 19-and-a-half. My youngest cat is 13, and one of my 17-year-olds still looks like a 2-year-old.

You're right, BBG, it never stops hurting.

  5. I've had so many pets when I was young and one of them was a white cat named Blu (coz of his blue eyes). You're good at remembering dates. I'm not really a person with good memory. I miss my pets too. Hugs.

  6. I apologize for responding late. Had a VERY busy two weeks.

Dianne - Thanks a bunch for the hugs!! The pic of the cat is not Butterfingers, but gorgeous just the same. Buttas was a tabby with four colors - black, brown, white, and gray. Someone told me a four colored cat was good luck. Buttas front chest area was all white. It looked as if she was wearing a dicky. She was most pretty. And, no I don't have any other pets, although I'm thinking seriously about getting another cat. I'm sure having other pets lessens the pain - somewhat. Cheers Di!!

Kim - I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds like you are a modern-day Dr. Dolittle?! Cheers Kim!!

reena - I totally agree with Val. Be careful - the words we speak become our experience. Losing Butterfingers was very painful. Someone said that she might have died from a broken heart (I couldn't take her with me, so I left her with a classmate). Imagine the guilt trip that put me on?? Funny thing because I have always been a dog person. My daughter found Buttas just when I needed one. I had her for 16 years. Cheers reena!!

Val - I remember we lost our pets about the same time, which is why I posted the blog. Great advice to give reena (missing moments). Cheers Val!!

Bugz - Blu? Cute name. Greiving for a pet is paramount to greiving for a person - IMHO. Cheers Bugz!!

Thanks for all the tender, heart-felt sentiments everyone. They really warm my spirits.
